On Monday, September 18, 2017, 7:30 pm Rowe Recital Hall University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, NC Anna Cromwell, violin; Lisa Nelson, violin/viola; and Mira Frisch, cello will perform all three movements of my string trio MOODS on a program with works by Adrienne Albert, Victoria Bond, and Rain Worthington.
Over this past year pianist Haddassah Guttman has been recording all twenty-four works in my series "Intervals" at the Sean Swinney Studio in New York. Each work is is based on a theme using one of the twenty-four possible intervals of the scale. Here is a video of the second work, A Minor Second Down, from last May. We hope to issue the album by this fall, so keep an eye on iTunes and Amazon!
This Sunday, January 22 at 5:00 PM North Shore Pro Musica will present a concert at the Long Island Museum featuring works by Beethoven, Schumann, Vaughan Williams and Julie Mandel. Featuring Betsy Palmedo, Soprano; Paolo Bartolani, Piano; Terry Keevil, Oboe. The Mandel duet 'Solitude in the City' will be performed by Bartolani and Keevil.
The Borzova-Tonna Vocal Duo (Alla Borzova, soprano and composer, and Anna Tonna, mezzo soprano), accompanied by pianist Olga Gurevich, will present a concert “Music Like a Curve of Gold…” dedicated to the works of contemporary women composers in two locations: in Chappaqua, Westchester, and in New York City.

The program will feature the arts songs and duets by Beth Anderson, Alla Borzova, Juliana Hall, Patricia Leonard, Binnette Lipper, Julia Mandel, Nataliya Medvedovskaya, Melanie Mitrano, Anne Phillips, Hilary Tann, Tawnie Olson, and Joelle Wallach. The scene from Alla Borzova’s chamber comic opera The Wedding Gift of Pirate Granny will be presented as well. (Please, see below for a complete program.)
The themes range from mysticism, immigration & resistance, communion with nature and domestic bliss to the bawdy world of carnivals and piracy!
Borzova-Tonna Vocal Duo, formed in 2014, is two-time recipient of the New York Women Composers Association award. The duo presented recitals featuring music by historical and contemporary women composers. In December of 2014 they presented a recital entitled “There Is a Magic Made by Melody” at historic St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church in White Plains. Now they bring the extended program to Chappaqua, Westchester County, and New York City.
The 24 Intervals pieces for piano will be recorded over the next several months and will be available shortly thereafter.

On November 15, 2015, pianist Paolo Bartolani performed a program of piano works by LICA and classical composers before a standing-room-only crowd at the Church of the Redeemer in Mattituck, NY.
