This is from my Brill Building days, when publishers Weiss and Barry had me write lyrics for a little tune by Beethoven from the Third Movement of his 9th Symphony, as adapted by the emphatically-named French composer Roger Roger (really). I never met him or spoke to him at the time, but years later in the 1980’s on a trip to Paris with my friend Gloria, we looked him up and he and his wife couldn’t have been more gracious hosts. I think this came out in about 1957, and it even was conducted, and probably arranged by Nelson Riddle . Wow.
